NHRA UNLEASHED DROPPED FROM SCHEDULE

CDP SCHEDULE CHANGE MADE FOR JULY 15 & 16

A joint decision was made on Tuesday, June 21 between the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) and Cordova Dragway Park (CDP) to cancel the NHRA Unleashed Series Event at Cordova that was originally scheduled for Friday and Saturday, July 15 & 16. Within a few days, the NHRA will be making a major announcement concerning the Unleashed Series.

"The decision to cancel the Cordova Event was multi-fold, said CDP Track Operator Scott Gardner, the current economic conditions along with what NHRA is going to announce were the ultimate deciding factors, he said. All racers who had pre-entered the Cordova Unleashed Event will have refunds made to their credit cards within the next 10 days.

The Cordova Dragway Park schedule will now be changed for July 15 & 16. Friday, July 15 will be a Rev-Hard Fun Night with open racing for everyone. Then on Saturday, July 16 there will be a Points Bracket Series Event (make-up for a previous rain-out). The Motorcycle class will not be contested.

The Points Bracket Event on Saturday, July 16 will be a the Richmond Gear Weekend Warriors Special. Winners in Super Pro, Pro ET, Super ET, True Street and Trophy will win a prize package. The total overall value of the prize packages for this event will be an excess of more than $20,000.
