Fun Night, BOP Fun Day & Battle of High Schools

It's a busy fall weekend of racing at Cordova Dragway Park, Friday through Sunday, October 7 - 9. The racing begins on Friday evening with a Rev Hard Fun Night and open racing for everyone. Then on Saturday, it's 24th Annual BOP Fun Day (Buicks, Oldsmobiles and Pontiacs) plus racing for all brands. The day includes some test-n-tune as well as competition classes. Then on Sunday, it's the fall Battle of the High Schools with racing for High Schools students with proper I.D.

Attention High Schools Competitors

The racing technique referred to as "sand bagging" will be prohibited at the fall Battle of the High Schools on Sunday, October 9, 2011. Sandbagging is dialing your vehicle (car, truck or bike) significantly slower than your capable elapsed time. The quickest allowable dial-in for this event is 11.50. Should your vehicle (car, truck or bike) be capable of running significantly quicker than the 11.50 standard, you would not be allowed to dial higher than 11.50. This applies to any estimated elapsed times (not just vehicles quicker than 11.50).

The rule will be applied on the sole interpretation of the race director. This policy has been instituted after discussions with officials of the NHRA and is put in place for this event because of the "novice" nature of this racing. Simply put the act is prohibited.
