ROAD WORK UNDERWAY AT CORDOVA

More than 1200 ton of asphalt grindings has been trucked into Cordova Dragway Park, Cordova, Illinois to improve the pit roadways. “The plan is distribute the grindings to produce approximately 5000 feet of roadways throughout the pit area and then roll the surface to make it smooth and hard” said Scott Gardner.

The grindings are from an Interstate re-paving project and were trucked in by Curry Transportation Services of Muscatine, IA and the road work will be completed by JF Miller Excavating and Ratcliff Brothers with assistance from many volunteers.  “We could not honestly have paid to have this project done without the sponsorship help of the contractors and volunteers” continued Gardner.

Cordova Dragway Park opens for 2010 on April 10 & 11 with the Spring Warm-Up and Swap Meet.
