AMERICA'S TRADITION CONTINUES  It's become a must see tradition known throughout America and is the oldest continuous drag race in the World, the O'Reilly Auto Parts World Series of Drag Racing. Set for Friday thru Sunday, August 24-26, 2007 at Cordova Dragway Park in Cordova, Illinois. "The event has always been a great mixture of the past and the current in drag racing" said Scott Gardner. "This years event will be know different with The Greek in Top Fuel and young lions like Del Worsham in Nitro Funny Car" he stated.
Sportsman racing continues on Sunday with hundreds of entries throughout the Midwest competing for thousands of dollars in prize monies.

The World Series kicks off on Friday, August 24 with sportsman racing throughout the day followed by the Night of Thrills on Friday evening. The Night of Thrills features Jets, wheelstanders, nitro nostalgia funny cars, nitro fueled altereds and more. "It's known as the best deal in drag racing" said Cordova's Tazz Hines. 
Then on Saturday, the wick gets turned up as the major players in drag racing invade CDP. Nitro Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars headline the feature show. Multi NHRA National Event Champion Del Worsham brings his CSK funny car to CDP for the first time, along with his teammate Jeff Arend. In addition, nitro funny car favorites Jack Wyatt and Tim Wilkerson will be in attendance. 
The Pro Finale on Saturday is one of only a few independent shows that feature the top stars in drag racing. "It's not easy putting this type of show together as the costs are high and the availability of cars is limited" explained Gardner. "The costs of professional drag racing has escalated and most teams don't have the manpower or time to race an independent event, we are fortunate to get some great drivers this year" he continued.
