NO-BOX RACERS SCORE With just under 300 entries on the CDP grounds, Brian Lynch drove his Pro Eliminator Chevy pick-up truck to a win in the Super Combo Bracket Class on Saturday, Sept 29 OktoberFest of Drag Racing event. Lynch from Clinton, IA claimed the $4,000 top prize. On Sunday, Travis O'Bryan drove his Nova to the CDP Grand Championship in a run-off of the class Champions in Super Pro, Pro, Super ET and True Street. O'Bryan was the Super ET class Champion and used consistent reaction times and elapsed times to claim the Championship. Bob Bash came to the OktoberFest of Drag Racing with really one thing on his mind; winning the Midwest Bracket Alliance Championship. However, an uncharacteristic first round red light ended that chance. Bash, with his never say quit attitude, bought back and took the Pro Class win and advanced to the NHRA "King of the Track" run-off against the other class winners. In the run-off Bash showed everyone why he is the Eddyville Raceway Park pro class Champion as he scored the King of the Track Title earning an NHRA Wally in the process.
