The Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series presented by Matco Tools was a great success by all accounts. "We had just under 400 entries which is great for a first year event" said Operator Scott Gardner. The LODRS featured NHRA Sportsman Classes including the popular Competition Eliminator as well as Top Sportsman and Top Dragster.

A couple of local racers faired well in eliminations as Michael Lund of Bettendorf, Iowa scored a victory in Super Stock as well as Rod Cady from Erie, Illinois finished with a runner-up in Super Street.  Plans are already being made for the 2008 event.
